Since her first day working at the company in February 2022, she has become a true ambassador for her employer. As an Internal Consultant, she sees it as her job to bridge the gap between strategy and technology.

On the road to the energy transition


“In summer 2021, I completed my Master’s degree in business engineering at ICHEC. During my studies, I developed a broad and generalist view of economics, management and technology and how these fields are intertwined. Energy management was one of the subjects I found extremely fascinating. How does our society deal with energy scarcity? Are we ready for a radical energy transition? And how can we foster widespread public support for this transition? I was fascinated by all these questions and so decided to carve out a career in this field.”

Healthy mix of industry expertise and vision for the future

“In my search for an attractive employer, Elia was pretty much at the top of my shortlist. Why? “I began working as a Young Graduate Trainee at Elia in February 2022. The two-year Young Potential Programme gives me the opportunity to explore the company through six-month placements. This is an excellent approach because it not only provides me with a 360° view of how my employer is structured and operates, but also brings me into contact with colleagues from various departments and with external stakeholders. This encourages a valuable crossover of ideas and experiences, and serves as a basis for me to plot my professional career within Elia. This year there was a Starters Day for all the company’s young potentials, and this event was also incredibly popular!”

Collective intelligence

“A culture of knowledge sharing and mutual consultation promotes collective intelligence, which I think is one of my employer’s great strengths. This allows us to enhance each other’s management and technical knowledge, which then has a positive impact on Elia’s services. By the way, I am committed to keeping my knowledge up to date, reading newsletters and attending seminars, among other things, to remain as up to date as possible with news affecting our industry. Indeed, regulations at both national and international level are changing rapidly, with examples including the Green Deal, CSRD reporting rules and EU Taxonomy. As an Internal Consultant, one of my tasks is to break this complex information down into understandable chunks for my colleagues, bridging the gap between strategy and technology.”
